Senior journalist, literary personality, writer for television and Kannada films H Girish Rao alias Jogi’s mother Smt Sharada S Rao died on Tuesday afternoon at Puttenahalli residence in Bangalore. She leaves behind Jogi, Smt Jyothi and granddaughter Kushi.
 

Jogi’s elder brother Narayana Rao passing away seven months ago had in fact worried Smt Sharadha. In the last six months she was bed ridden.

As Jogi was all set to move to his office Udayavani prestigious Kannada daily the end came for Smt Sharada S Rao. She was 87 years. The cremation took place in the traditional Shivalli Brahmin style at Wilson Garden crematorium at 6.30 pm on the same evening.


At the residence of Jogi the last respect was paid to the departed soul by leading personalities like TN Seetharam, Surendranath, Vinu Balanja, Ravi Kiran, Shivadwaj, BS Lingadevaru and others.


The admirable woman Smt Sharada Rao is known for her excellent memory power as Ganesh Aithal close family friend of Jogi remembers. Smt Sharada Rao habit of reading was very good. Narrating story to children was her habit for a long time. The Mahabharata and The Ramayana tales were convincingly coming in her narration to the children especially from Smt Sharada Rao at various functions and get together. The caliber in Jogi to narrate good stories in his columns and his impeccable observation power is no doubt a gift from his mother Smt Sharada.


At the ripe age Smt Sharada did not stop reading books and newspapers to know what’s happening around the world.


On Mahalaya Amavasye day ‘Mahathaayi’ of Jogi has finished her journey. May her soul rest in peace.
